Photos From Trainfest

Trainfest 2013 wrapped up this weekend, but we were able to make our way onto the show floor a day early for a closer look at some of the cool booths and amazing layouts at the convention.

If you're unfamiliar with Trainfest, it's one of the largest model train shows in the world and brings tens of thousands of railroaders to Milwaukee Wisconsin every year. We made sure to visit the show this time around to give DASH Flash readers a closer look at the show floor. This is Trainfest 2013!

If you're curious just how big the convention is, take a look at the panoramic image below. Be sure to click it for a high resolution view that'll give you a better sense of scale. There's a lot of floor space and even more trains to fill it up!

There are a number of manufacturer and dealer booths like the ones below from Walthers and Wisconsin-Illinois Trains.

There are also lots of clubs with layouts to show off at the show. The Glacial Garden Train Club is setting up their huge layout directly below, while the youth-oriented W.I.S.E. Guys and Gals Club proudly shows off their NMRA official club banner.

There are more layouts than you can imagine, and we have tons of pictures of various highlights below. It would take years to fully-capture every layout at the show, but these sample images should give you an idea of the professionalism and eye for detail that show attendees routinely show off with their trains.

Every railroader should make it a goal to visit Trainfest at some point in their life. It's not only great to see all the different train-related events and displays, but it's even better to be surrounded by those who love and appreciate the hobby we call our own. It's well worth the trip whether you come by train, car, or plane!
