In order to make the DASH Marketplace as enjoyable and convenient as possible, we're always looking for ways to improve the experience. Today we introduced a new image viewer, and it has made the buying experience better than ever.
You can go ahead and play around with the new image viewer on any current DASH Marketplace listing. The experience should be intuitive and probably even a bit of fun! But it might also help to read the following walkthrough first to get the most out of it. I've selected a cool Lionel locomotive to help us demonstrate the changes.
Right away you'll notice a few adjustments to the image area. We recently added photo attributions to let you know if the seller uploaded the photo or if they pulled one from the DASH Catalog. We also moved up the gallery from the tabs below, so that it's easier to see and select multiple photos within a listing. You can even scroll using the arrows to access every photo on a listing.
You might be thinking that the standard photos are a little small at their default size. That's why we added a spectacular new hover-zoom feature. Just mouse over the photo and a new box will pop-up that gives you a closer look at the train's details. This will help you make all the right buying decisions and see just how intricate today's trains can be. If you're on an iPad, you can zoom by tapping and holding down instead of using the typical pinching motion.
This is the best way to focus in on specific details in a larger size. But if you're looking for a full-size view, you can still just click the picture to load a new pop-up view that shows full resolution images. If you're on a laptop, it's super easy to use the spacebar to move through images or the escape key to exit out of this larger view. We've also added more prominent controls in the upper right-hand corner to make things even easier to handle.
Between all the new controls and enhanced views, we expect you'll enjoy browsing the marketplace even more. It makes the buying experience more enjoyable and reliable than it's ever been. In other words, there are lots of gorgeous trains to see in an all new way!
